I was lucky enough to get to photo The Brian Jonestown Massacre on Saturday night. I photoed them a few years back too and they were the same shambolic genius! When they are motoring, these guys take you off to another planet and tonight had all the highs (and between song frustrations) of a classic BJM show. Highly recommended! Auckland psychedelia-ists Arthur Ahbez supported The Brian Jonestown Massacre and were as excellent as ever. I’ve seen them in venues big and small and this show was one of the best! They are one of my favourite local bands. (with thanks to UnderTheRadar )
I had the massive pleasure of taking some photos of Auckland musician Lorde. For the New Zealand leg of her tour she chose to play in much smaller venues than she would normally do which is why i was lucky enough to catch her live at the Powerstation which has a 1000 person capacity. I’ve loved The Dandy Warhols since the 90s so when i heard they were coming to Auckland i grabbed a couple of tickets within the first couple of minutes of them going on sale.
